Bird Uganda Safaris builds the capacity of tourist guides at Sipi Falls Eastern Uganda
The Sipi Falls is one the tourists sites in Uganda with the highest number of tourists. Unfortunately, there had never been any training of the tourist guides in the are. There are 3 major falls in a distance of about 2 km. There are other adventure activities such as abseiling, Rock climbing, coffee processing experience, village walk, and community village walks. I chose to do a service and conduct a training ” introduction to tourist guiding” for a week. About 40 local guides attended this training.
At the closing ceremony, the Tourism Officer Kapchorwa District thanked the participants for attending the training and advised them to join the national guides association ( Uganda Safari Guides Association)
